Well, as the year comes to a close, it has been my assignment at 990WBOB for almost 8 years to bring you the list of notable passing’s in 2019. It always amazes me how many names I forgot. There are the ones who go suddenly, the ones who were pretty up there in years and then of course the ones I thought were already deceased. As I do every year, I won’t mention everyone, so if there was someone you thought was special that you don’t see here it was by no means a slight on their significance. SEE Gamer:Redefined News first on 990WBOB!

In 2016, Forbes named the Pawtucket Red Sox as the 21st most valuable minor league baseball team. In 2018, they announced their intentions to move to Worcestor. It was a tough blow for a city already down on its luck. The Memorial Hospital there closed in 2017, and rumors swirled of Hasbro moving its headquarters from the city. But things are looking up in the city for once, with the announcement of a $400 million redevelopment plan in the downtown area that features a professional soccer stadium, an indoor sports complex, a hotel and office space. National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation is a modern-day Christmas classic, it’s one of those movies that we’ll watch over and over, from start to finish. For many of us it’s because it contains the ingredients necessary for a good Christmas movie. It’s very relatable, it’s extremely easy to identify with the characters, the comedy highlights the absurdities that are our lives and of course more Holiday Cheer than you can shake an elf at. I feel Clark’s pain. We all want that perfect Christmas, not for ourselves but for our families and those we love. It’s not a status thing like throwing the best Christmas Party and having people talk about it for years to come. It’s more about giving the gift of Christmas memories that will be cherished for a lifetime. Ryan L. Fox
On September 29, 2014, the New England Patriots were humiliated at Arrowhead Stadium by the Kansas City Chiefs 41-14. After the loss, coach Bill Belichick was pressed by the media of what happened during the game. He then uttered the famous line, “We’re onto Cincinnati.” Next week, the Patriots obliterated the Cincinnati Bengals at home 43-17 and went on to go win the Super Bowl that same year. Fast forward to present day, the Patriots were coming off a big loss to the Kansas City Chiefs the previous week and were faced with a multitude of questions like the state of the offense and QB Tom Brady’s future. But like 5 years ago, the Patriots were ‘onto Cincinnati’ and like 5 years ago, the Patriots did what they needed to do against the bungling Bengals. |
