WBOB Sports host and writer Christian Martinelli is joined in a social distancing episode of Psycho Sports by WBOB's College Football Impact's Pat Sullivan and station personality Michael Sandoval. They cover the virtual NFL Draft and if it was a failure or success, did the Patriots draft go well, and what team had the best and worst draft?

After the most dramatic effects of the Great Depression, Franklin Delano Roosevelt brought about the New Deal, establishing the modern day social safety net in the most sweeping package of policies ever seen in the United States. After the recession of 2008, Barack Obama used his political capital to institute the Affordable Care Act, changing the fundamentals of healthcare in this country. After this pandemic is over and the dust has settled, what policy or fundamental shift in political ideology will occur? Here’s three possibilities: Christian Martinelli
Last Thursday was the first time Americans have had some sort of sporting event to all sit down and watch simultaneously in the last month and a half. That event was the 2020 NFL Draft that was conducted out of NFL commissioner Roger Goodell’s basement. Some people thought it would be a disaster, some people thought it would be amazing, and others believed it would be better than the nothing that we’ve had. After the dust has settled and all 256 picks have been made, was the 2020 NFL Draft a bust or a great success? Allan Giberti
I personally hate writing and talking about the coronavirus but it has literally infected just about everything. All news, all politics now revolve around COVID-19. The nation appears to be past the peak and the President has issued guidelines for Opening Up America Again. It is a three phase approach to safely and thoughtfully open up the economy. Some parts of the country are making preparations to open back up, some are just going for it, but not here in Rhode Island. We haven’t hit our coronavirus peak yet. Unfortunately, you have many Rhode Islanders who hit their coronavirus tolerance peak about a week and a half to two weeks ago. Bob Giusti About three years ago I bought a real cool pair of cowboy boots. More on this later… So I have been living the COVID-19 dream for about 43 days now (but who counts any more?) I have developed, and some might say adapted to the “New Normal” with a new evolving routine. My contacts are narrowed to 11 people (and actually it’s been more than 14 days now for one of them) and my traveling is no more than an 8 mile radius. When I run out the door it is now; keys, phone…and mask. |
