Justin Menoche, age 26, with a last known address of 366 Wickenden Street, Providence, pled guilty yesterday before Superior Court Justice William Carnes to child pornography and indecent solicitation of a minor. Menoche, a former Burrillville substitute teacher, committed the new charges while on probation from a previous conviction of possession of child pornography.
During a routine check of the defendant, probation officials found that Menoche was using apps on his computer to communicate with underage girls to solicit pornographic photos and was in possession of child pornography. He previously pled guilty in October 2013 to possession of child pornography for which he received a sentence of five years, with one to serve on home confinement and the remainder suspended with probation. In addition, he was required to register as a sex offender and severely restricted access to computers and the Internet. Dee DeQuattro
The tone in the gubernatorial race really heated up this week as Gina Raimondo and Allan Fung lobbed attacks at each other on 38 Studios, Rhode Island Housing, the Cranston Police Department, and Pensions. 38 Studios has dominated much of the race both candidates blaming the other for supporting the failed video game company, problem is both Fung and Raimondo weren’t really involved in the matter. ![]() Kevin Willette Truth: Vincent "Buddy" Cianci is a convicted felon. In his own words, he has used his former authority as Pontiff of Providence to create his own fiefdom. He is the epitome of old style boss politics, the face of Old Providence. Another truth? Voters are just plain sick and tired of hearing about it. Arthur Christopher Schaper
This November, Rhode Islanders can change the course of the Ocean State, or stagnate. Here is my run-down of whom I would send to Smith Hill and to Washington. No Master Lever for me, since I will not be voting a straight GOP ticket. You’ll understand at the end. For a second time, Providence Mayoral Candidate Jorge Elorza has frustrated a racially and ethnically diverse panel of inner city local media intent on interviewing the Mayoral Candidates on behalf of their audiences and communities.
Local Community Newspaper "Impacto Hispano" invited ethnic news outlets to participate in their editorial board interview process and gave each panelist who attended an equal vote in the paper's endorsement process. The interviews were to be conducted in English. Impacto Hispano Newspaper publishes local and community news in Spanish and English. |
