In all of the Star Wars Universe, there is no character (or rather characters) that are more loved as well as respected than the clone troopers. Making their big screen debut in Episode II: The Clone Wars in 2003, they were portrayed as battle-hardened soldiers created from the DNA template of bounty hunter Jango Fett with their sole purpose of fighting and completing their mission objective. This, unfortunately, included carrying out the infamous Order 66 which wiped out the Jedi. Then in 2008, David Fiolini came out with the critically acclaimed 3D animated cartoon series, Star Wars: Clone Wars. Here, the clones were not just portrayed as militaristic soldiers following orders without order. Rather, they were shown to have their own individual personality as well as their own personal beliefs on fighting the Clone Wars, the treatment of themselves, standing up to a corrupt Jedi, and showing an unbreakable brotherhood bond within the Clone Army. R.I. League of Cities and Towns Urges Local Control and Funding in Marijuana Legalization Proposals4/29/2021 The Rhode Island League of Cities and Towns announces its position on proposals for the legalization of adult recreational use marijuana today. This comes ahead of the House Finance Committee’s hearing scheduled for Thursday, April 29th on Article 11 of the Governor’s budget (the legalization of adult recreational use marijuana).
“What we have heard overwhelmingly from municipal counterparts in other states is that, if Rhode Island legalizes marijuana, our cities and towns will bear most of the direct burden,” said Brian Daniels, Executive Director of the League. “As different proposals are vetted by the General Assembly, our number one priority remains the same – ensuring that local governments have sufficient operational control, oversight and resources in any legalization proposal to lessen the burden on our residents and our community.” Since WIN TV NETWORK was launched on March 10th of this year, primarily for testing some of the back end systems, it was immediately found by people all over the world.

Governing is all about balancing goals and making compromises, but when it comes to breaking up the Kennedy Plaza bus hub, economic development should not override the accessibility and efficiency of Providence’s public transit. Rhode Island’s Department of Transportation plans to spend $35 million to replace the bus hub at Kennedy Plaza with two new hubs, located on Dyer Street and at the Providence Train Station. While not finalized, the move would free space in Kennedy Plaza for recreational uses and promote economic growth in the business district, per the DOT. But the plan faces significant opposition from activists and local organizations, who say the move would hurt low-income individuals and communities of color in Providence. By moving the Kennedy Plaza bus hub, advocates say riders will now be required to make additional transfers and take more time than before to make the same trip. |
