It’s almost November, and we have seen enough major upsets and thrilling finishes in the first nine weeks of the football season for us to believe the next few weeks could pack more excitement than we’ve ever seen in the College Football Playoff era. In back-to-back weeks, we saw the then number two seed lose in blow outs, then in week nine, there were eight ranked teams that lost to unranked opponents. Now, we get the unveiling of the first edition of the CFP rankings. This is where is gets really interesting. While I don’t have an official vote within the CFP committee (yet), below are my top ten teams heading into Week 10, and their chances to finish in the top four by December.

After one of the best seasons in program history, URI Basketball heads into the 2018-19 season in a completely different place than they were just a year ago. They unofficially opened the season last week, with a closed scrimmage at St. John’s University on Sunday, Oct. 21 and an open exhibition against Pace University at the Ryan Center the following Thursday. Rhode Island won both games, defeating St. Johns 85-79 and cruising to a 80-65 victory over Pace.
In a message to his supporters, former Massachusetts Governor, and current Chairman of Freedom for America (http://freedomforamerica.us/), Bill Weld issued an official endorsement of: Tony Jones, Moderate Party candidate for North Kingstown School Committee.
In his message regarding the campaign Weld writes: As part of its sustainable plastics vision, PepsiCo, Inc. (PepsiCo) announced a new goal to strive to use 25 percent recycled content in its plastic packaging by 2025.
PepsiCo aims to achieve this goal by collaborating with suppliers and partners, helping to increase consumer education, fostering cross-industry and public-private partnerships, and advocating for improved recycling infrastructure and regulatory reform, all of which are required to realize our ambition. The goal includes an aim specific to PET (polyethylene terephthalate) beverage bottles to achieve 33% recycled PET content by 2025.

It’s almost that time- Midterm Election Day is just over a week away, and incumbent Gina Raimondo is going up against several challenges, including a rematch against Republican Cranston Mayor Allan Fung. Fung contested Raimondo tightly in 2014, and could have won had it not been for a number of voted going to third-party candidate Bob Healey. The four-term mayor has done his best to keep the race close once again. Here are five reasons he could pull off the victory over the governor. |
