After a consumer presented himself at the Office of Attorney General concerned there was a warrant out for his arrest, Attorney General Peter Kilmartin is warning consumers to be aware of a new scam by someone claiming to be from the “Providence County Court.”

"In a rush to follow through on resolutions to get fit and healthy, many consumers don’t take the time to ask the right questions or know their rights when choosing a gym, often finding themselves in contracts they can’t get out of or paying extra fees for various services,” said Attorney General Kilmartin. For the third straight week, gasoline prices in Rhode Island have had a double-digit drop, and prices in the Ocean State are now more than a dollar per gallon lower than one year ago, according to AAA Southern New England.
