Thursday's CNN/Telemundo Republican debate gave Donald Trump's rivals one final shot to establish themselves as legitimate alternatives to the front runner going into the coveted “Super Tuesday,” a day where nearly half of the delegates needed to win the GOP's nomination will be up for grabs. For Senators Ted Cruz and Macro Rubio, who are giving Trump the most competition, this was a "now or never" moment, as a poor debate performance meant doomsday for either campaign. About 87 percent of drivers engaged in at least one risky behavior while behind the wheel within the past month, according to latest research by the AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety. These unsafe behaviors include driving while distracted, impaired, drowsy, speeding, running red lights or not wearing a seat belt. These disturbing results come as nearly 33,000 Americans died in car crashes in 2014, and preliminary estimates project a nine percent increase in deaths for 2015.

Saying the state must do more to address smoking as the serious threat to public health that it is, Rep. Teresa Tanzi and Sen. Cynthia A. Coyne have introduced legislation to raise the minimum age to purchase tobacco products in Rhode Island from 18 to 21.
