The current chatter is that Rhode Island will most likely to lose one of its two seats in the U.S. House of Representatives- which are currently held by Congressmen David Cicilline (D) and Jim Langevin (D). Unless one of them chooses not to seek re-election, it would come down to a face-off in the 2022 primaries. This is a direct result of our stagnant population growth, a symptom of a much bigger and much more serious problem. We haven't kept up with the rest of the nation in every other measurable financial metric, why should population growth be any different? To put it simply, when the boat is sinking, people jump ship. “It’s good to be back home,” Rhode Island Head Coach David Cox said after URI’s 72-60 win over Middle Tennessee on Sunday. In their last non-conference game of the regular season, and first home game since Nov. 28, Rhode Island impressed in front of 6,382 fans by fending off a resilient Blue Raiders team. Jeff Dowtin led the team with 17 points, and notched double figures for his 17th straight contest, dating back to last season.

People won’t remember how you start but how you finish things. At the beginning of the 2018 season, there was reported turmoil and uncertainty within the New England Patriots locker room. But they were somehow able to weather that storm as well as their road ineptitude throughout the entire season all the way to the end. Now in Week 17, the Patriots met their AFC East divisional opponent New York Jets in Gillette for the last game of the 2018 regular season and the last NFL game of 2018. A win would guarantee the AFC #2 Playoff seed as well as end the season on a strong note. After 60 minutes of football, there was no doubt that the outcome would be any different.
