This past Sunday, the Cranston National Budlong Junior League softball team opened up play in Kirkland, Washington for the Junior League Softball World Series- defeating a team from Bologna, Italy by a score of 3-2. In the state of Rhode Island, national recognition is rare- that’s just how it is. For baseball and softball players from Cranston, however, rare is the last word they’d use to describe competing in the spotlight.

Season sweeps have come far and few in between for the PawSox in the 2018 season as they only have 3 to their name. This past Sunday, they faced the Charlotte Knights in the finale of their weekend series. The PawSox had won the first two games of the series and were looking for their 4th series sweep of the season. Taking the mound for the PawSox was RHP William Cuevas (7-5, 3.28) as the Knights looked to LHP Jordan Guerrero (2-0, 3.25).

You can't help but stop and think, "Are we sending the wrong message?" when you hear what music is popular on many radio stations today. Give a listen to today's hits playing over and over whenever you come across it. You’ll hear it in your favorite store, on your way to work, or even playing in the background of that YouTube video that your kids are watching. Mainstream music has changed over the last couple of decades, and not for the better. Some artists are continuing to work hard and put out content that they believe in, but we're letting some clowns in along the way.

When LeBron James hedged his bets with Cleveland and packed up to head to the Lakers, consensus around the league was that the Boston Celtics were once again the Kings of the East. Even after a loss to LeBron’s Cavaliers in Game 7 of The Eastern Conference Finals, Boston headed into the offseason with a positive outlook. All Celtics GM Danny Ainge had to do was maintain the roster, and he would be returning a top team in the Eastern Conference. Boston fans heard the team’s name in rumors surrounding the NBA’s A-list, even LeBron himself. The rumor mill rotated to Kawhi Leonard, to Jimmy Butler, to Kyrie possibly leaving, and several other possibilities. |
