College Football Impact's Pat Sullivan takes a look at how different coaches from around the country are dealing with the current situations of college football.
University of Minnesota's PJ Fleck has to keep his players focused through the fall, as the Gophers won't play until the Spring of 2021 at the earliest. In the SEC, Missouri's Eli Drinkwitz is getting his Tigers ready to play games at the end of September, but also needs to keep in mind the new eligibility ruling of players for this upcoming season. Finally, Sullivan looks into the quarterback battle down at Kentucky as head coach Mark Stoops has plenty of quality options for the Wildcats, a season after converting Lynn Bowdwn Jr. to the position due to injuries in 2019. As Rhode Island police attempt to sort out the case of a Providence man who they believe illegally sold dozens of firearms that he had reported stolen, and the nation learns more about the 17-year-old who apparently gunned down protestors in Kenosha, Wis., Rep. Justine Caldwell is calling for passage of her package of common-sense gun safety measures.
Representative Caldwell (D-Dist. 30, East Greenwich, West Greenwich) says the tragedy in Wisconsin and the cache of illegally sold weapons in Rhode Island just as a new wave of gun violence has erupted in Providence show that the need to address gun violence has not abated as the pandemic and racial inequity have dominated the nation’s attention. Today on #CarSideChat Allen discusses the woes of restoration with two local shop owners. First is Raymond Play of CMA Restorations, a new restoration shop in Rhode Island that specializes in older cars about what he does and how difficult it really is and Second we discuss with George LeGrice, a former guest on Ferro and Fox, of Basement Powersports about his upcoming projects and what he sees in his future as well as talking about his bare metal monster truck and cool blue patina Biscayne!

I’ll admit it — I lean left. If I could vote, instead of being stuck in the endless purgatory of a green card status, I would vote for Joe Biden in this year’s election. It should come as no surprise, then, that the DNC, to me, seemed to blow the RNC out of the water. In fact, my first reaction watching the RNC was, and I quote, “Is this a cult?” The impression that the Republican party left on me begged more questions. Does this convention actually accomplish what the GOP wants? Ryan L. Fox
Back on July 14, 2017, the Boston Celtics made a big splash in NBA free agency that year when they signed former Utah Jazz free agent SF Gordon Hayward to a 4-year, $128-million deal. This seemed like a perfect match as the Celtics got an All-Star caliber free agent and Hayward was able to reunite his old University of Butler coach Brad Stevens, who was the coach of the Celtics. But the man that was referred to as ‘Flash Gordon’ during his playing days with the Jazz suddenly came crashing down the moment he donned the green and white. |
