He was the Red Sox 2017 Minor League Pitcher of the Year, though you probably know nothing about him. Meet Jalen Beeks, the next man up in the Red Sox farm system. Beeks, a 24 year old southpaw, has quietly entrenched himself as the organization's top pitching prospect. He landed himself on the team's 40-man roster -- and now that Jay Groome is out indefinitely following Tommy John surgery on his pitching arm, Beeks may be the next man up for the organization.

Yes that’s right, Boston Red Sox second baseman and the 2008 AL MVP Dustin Pedroia is doing a rehab assignment with the team. However he isn’t the only Red Sox as RHPs Tyler Thornburg and Austin Maddox are doing their own rehab assignment with the team. How has the team performed with all these rehabbing Red Sox? Sen. Joshua Miller intends to introduce legislation today that draws upon the experiences of states where marijuana has been legalized to create a system to tax and regulate marijuana in Rhode Island.
While Senator Miller has introduced legislation with similar goals since 2014, this year the tax structure established in the bill mirrors that of Massachusetts, where recreational marijuana sales will become legal in July.

There is nothing quite like some baseball in the morning. After their Tuesday night game was postponed to a later date due to rain, the Pawtucket Red Sox and the Buffalo Bisons took to the diamond for a Wednesday morning matinee game. Taking the mound for the PawSox was RHP William Cuevas (1-2, 3.69) as he was going against Bisons ace RHP Chris Rowley (3-1, 1.93). However those who thought the Tuesday’s rainout would hamper the offensive fireworks, they were pleasantly surprised. |
