A large and vocal crowd is expected to attend House Finance Committee hearings today on a slate of bills designed to de-fang some of the most objectionable components of the controversial RhodeMap RI plan, which was adopted in the state's guide plan last December -- despite overwhelming opposition by the public. In a preview of remarks to be made in testimony by Mike Stenhouse, CEO of the RI Center for Freedom & Prosperity, the proposed legislation will be supported as fixes to a plan that infringes on the sovereignty of city and town governments and threatens individual property rights. Stenhouse will also claim that plan was adopted without a legitimate democratic process. Further, he will call-out the social equity activists who designed the plan and who publicly slandered opponents to RhodeMap RI as "racists" and "Ku Klux Klan."
The hearings will be held in Room 35 of the State House, at approximately 4:30 pm Thursday. The related bills are: H5643, H5644, H5744, H6041, H6041, H6042, H6043, and H5713. To view the Center's research and other information about RhodeMap RI, please go to RIFreedom.org/PropertyRights. |
