Here are the highlights from news and events that took place in the General Assembly this week.

The picture above is the exact example of improper social media etiquette and is an actual post not fictitious or altered in anyway. The names have been blacked out as this piece was posted for entertainment - not malice. However, this woman with strong presence public life as a politician and a pundit, has chosen to make this memorable occasion of the first picture of her child a public conversation piece and for all the wrong reasons. People everywhere in the Ocean State are talking about this. The Aaron Hernandez murder is in full swing and all anyone in Rhode Island can talk about is "I REALLY can't believe she posted that!" As this the lesson of "what not to do," here are a few examples of when Social Media Goes Wrong

Transactions have only been going on around the NFL for a few days now. For our local, defending champion Patriots, there have been quite a few changes that make this team different than the one that won a title not even two months ago. Here what has happened so far: New England has resigned top free agent Dont’a Hightower, who helped lead the Patriots to two Super Bowl victories. Hightower would have been very difficult to replace on what was the stingiest defense in 2016. His return can definitely help the Patriots return to the championship.

Spike Lee, who’s apparently been living under a rock for the past year and a half or quite simply doesn’t get it, is perplexed that no NFL team wants to sign blackballed NFL protester / quarterback Colin Kaepernick, who hit the free agent market this year when he opted out of his current deal with the San Francisco 49ers. We all know Kaepernick’s history by now. The former biracial media darling who took the NFL by storm in 2013 when he led the 49ers to the Super Bowl caused a stir this past season when he began kneeling during the National Anthem to protest social and racial issues (his words, not ours). 
The University of Rhode Island and the Wheeler School will hold a two-day guitar festival in Kingston and Providence on April 1 and 2 to engage local classical guitarists in workshops and master classes and offer public concerts by elite international performers.
