March has come in like a lion. Your managers probably want you to put in extra work to make up for lost time from snow... but it’s March. In March, there are way more important priorities to handle in your office than working. I’m talking of course about getting away with watching sports while you’re on the clock. The URI Rams and the Providence College Friars both made the NCAA tournament this year, and Major League Baseball seems to love day games during the early part of the season. You know you can’t miss those games. Rhody plays their first game at noon on Thursday, and PC plays their first game at noon on Friday. The Red Sox open their season at four o’clock on Thursday the 29th, and if you’re a Yankees fan you’ll be needing to watch a half hour earlier to catch your favorite team. This is crunch time, people! With so many games coming up during your work day, there has to be some way where you can get away with watching your favorite sports at work. Here are 5 ways to watch sporting events during your work day...
Chicago may the best city for St. Patrick's Day celebrations, according to a recent WalletHub survey, but both Boston and Providence are among the top destinations to "go Bragh."
The survey compared 200 of the most populated U.S. cities across four key dimensions: 1) St. Patrick’s Day Traditions, 2) Costs, 3) Safety & Accessibility and 4) St. Patrick’s Day Weather. According to the findings, Boston ranked 2nd, and Providence ranked 38th. In all, six New England cities were named in the top 200. The cities include Boston, Providence, Worcester, Springfield, New Haven, and Bridgeport. See the full list below!

They were playing fantastic basketball. They were one of the hottest teams in the country. Despite a loss to the St. Bonaventure Bonnies, the fortunes were still looking good for what became the seventeenth best team in the nation, but that changed fast. The University of Rhode Island Rams won two games after their division one leading streak was snapped. With those wins came the team’s first ever conference title in the Atlantic-10, and not much good after that.

March 3rd, 2015; just more than three years ago. A night I will never forget. I will never not have nightmares about that night. I will never look at driving during inclimate conditions the same. Before I was a member of 990WBOB.com and working other media jobs, I worked in a restaurant a few towns over. There had been a big snow storm once a week that winter, and I just so happened to work every single one of them. It felt like every Monday in February that winter it had snowed. A lot. And I had to drive home during every single one of them.

In July 2005, the sequel to Rob Zombie's House of 1000 Corpses, The Devil's Rejects was released. 13 years later, is it possible that we may get the next installment in the saga of the Firefly family? According to industry rumors, that very thing could be in the works. |
