By Wildside Clyde Today is 9/11, and our prayers go to to all those people who were lost; our blessing go to the families who lost loved ones and friends. I remember I was having my car detailed and on the TV in the lobby, a news flash came on, saying that a small airplane stuck one of the Towers in Manhattan. As I watched, a passanger jet struck the other tower. I got in my car and went home. As I called my wife, the news stated a jet struck the Pentagon. I said to my wife, "Honey come home we are being attacked!" I remember my heart beating through my chest and the skies being so quiet as all the air travel was shut down. God Bless all those lost and God Bless America
By George Gonner (The Haunted Cabaret) Meacham Regional Elementary School sits at the bottom of Meacham Hill, until next week whenit is scheduled to be demolished. I attended Grades K through 6 in the original building at 17 River Drive, and Grades 7 and 8 in the newer building across the street. Thirty-five years after graduation, hearing about the proposed demolition, a touch of nostalgia brought me back for a last visit. I pulled up and parked beside the locked gate, and looked through a chain-link construction fence into the deserted playground.
By Casey Melucci I'd finished my daily grind and had begun my drive the twenty-two miles from North Smithfield to Cranston. As I drive down I-295, I hit the same stagnation I always do, stuck, with no place to go, the mind always seems to wander to more interesting pastures. While contemplating ideas we all have, ideas the most cunning of linguists would have issues articulating, my eyes fell upon the car in front of me. How strongly must this person feel? How righteous they must find their causes to display them to the world in such a manner?
