I love the Fall. Great weather, MLB playoffs, and my wife considers it her favorite (happy wife = happy life). With that being said, I am less than thrilled about the beer styles that are prevalent during this season. Pumpkin beers are a waste of resources, and in my opinion most of the Oktoberfests available during this time taste pretty goddamn similar. Some breweries come up with some really cool stout and porter options during the fall months, so that’s something that I look forward to each year. I’m going to outline a handful of beer options available this fall that I’ll be looking out for, in hopes that I can help even one person sift through the plethora of options and find a satisfying lager!

The Rhode Island Primary election is tomorrow and the gubernatorial race for both major parties could have a huge impact on the final election in November. For the Democratic side, incumbent Gov. Gina Raimondo is locked in a tight race with former Secretary of State Matt Brown. Former State Representative Spencer Dickinson is another Democratic candidate trying to beat out Raimondo as the party’s choice for governor.

After a monthslong campaign season, game day has finally arrived for the contenders in the various Democratic and Republican primary elections being held in Rhode Island today. While several General Assembly and City Council races command attention, there are three statewide races that are rightfully front and center: the gubernatorial primaries on the Democratic and Republican side, and the Democratic primary for Lieutenant Governor. That morning I was awoken by my wife at the time, who was at work, to tell me to turn on the TV because a plane crashed into the World Trade Center. I wasn't due into work until around 2 that afternoon. so I watched as I had my morning coffee. As I watched and listened to the confusion of what was going on, I watched the 2nd plane hit the tower live. That's when the coverage turned from a possible accident to something darker. I remember standing in front of my TV in complete shock and awe as the day unfolded, and the towers fell. |
