Try to remember back to a few weeks ago. The Patriots had won the first three games of the season, with backup quarterbacks. I’d like to put emphasis on that. Backup quarterbacks. Plural. Not only was Brady suspended, but Garoppolo wasn’t healthy, and then even his backup went down. They were faced with Julian Edelman as the potential starting quarterback. Jacoby Brissett ended up starting, but a rookie, third string quarterback who was injured and didn’t get enough reps in practice was not enough. The Patriots took home the loss in week four, to the Buffalo Bills at home.
The Rhode Island Department of Transportation (RIDOT) announced today that it has received proposals from four real estate development firms in response to a request for qualifications (RFQ) process for the construction of the Providence Intermodal Transit Center, a facility that will integrate bus and train service with parking and other economic development opportunities.
The firms submitting proposals include: Boston Development Collaborative, LLC; Boston Properties Limited Partnership; Marsella Development Corporation; and Redgate Capital Partners. Currently, bus service in Providence is centered at Kennedy Plaza which is about a quarter mile away from the train station. The proposed Transit Center will be located in close proximity to the existing Providence Station, and will reunite bus and train service while providing supporting transit-oriented development that would increase ridership and utilization.
Critically acclaimed national act Circuit des Yeux is heading to Providence on Sunday, Oct. 30. As part of their national tour the group will be at The Columbus Theatre with Ryley Walker.
Frontwoman Haley Fohr’s music strikes a unique balance between the personal and universal. As Circuit des Yeux she creates music that embodies the complexity of human emotions, juxtaposing tenderness and grief, ecstasy and horror, using sounds as representations of the emotional spectrum that we all experience. With one vicious right hand to the chin, Khiary Gray erased a summer’s worth of second guesses and “what ifs” and reclaimed his throne atop New England’s crowded junior middleweight division.
“I’m back!” Gray (14-1, 11 KOs) exclaimed Friday following his sensational seventh-round knockout win over Chicago’s Chris Chatman at Twin River Casino to retain his Universal Boxing Federation (UBF) International and Northeast Junior Middleweight Titles. Who could argue? "I know what you Steelers players are thinking. "Is he going to throw 5 or 6 touchdowns?" Well to tell you the truth, I'll probably loose track during the heat of the moment of the game. But since I am the greatest QB of the 21st century and and can throw the ball faster than your can touch my jersey, you've gotta ask yourself one question: "Do I feel lucky?" Well, do ya, Pittsburgh?" -Dirty Tom Ryan L. Fox
Yup, that’s the question this week: Do ya feel lucky? After last week’s success, yours truly feels extremely luck with his picks. This week, fans are in a treat with another NFL game in London, plus two games where old QBs come back to their old stomping grounds to play their former teams, and one game that could decide the fate of 2 AFC teams. What am I babbling about? Let’s find out, shall we? |
