A woman was struck and killed by a Peter Pan bus Wednesday morning as she crossed Washington street near the Alex and Ani City Center at Burnside Park.
This is the first Kennedy Plaza pedestrian death since a federal court security officer was struck and killed by a RIPTA bus in 2014. The accident occurred shortly after 8 AM. According to eyewitness reports, the woman was dragged more than 50 feet by the bus before finally stopping alongside the downtown skating rink. Police and city officials are currently investigating, though bus service at Kennedy Plaza is still active. More details will be provided as they become available. |
