John Davidson Because it keeps blowing up my feed, I figured I'd offer up my own (correct) opinion on the whole Syrian refugee thing. Guess what? As usual, it falls into the middle of the two belligerent extremes. Yes, we should help these people and allow them into the country through proper channels. Yes, this reveals how much more we could be doing for the unfortunate in our own country if doing so was politically expedient. Guess what, dummies? You Red & Blue/Rep & Lib dipshits screeching at each other are, as usual, too stupid to actually gain meaningful discussion from a situation. Red sees all this shit as a threat because of how fearful they've become that a big bad tewwowist is going to kick over their blocks, and liberals see this as a new humanitarian pet project to make themselves feel good about as if THEY'RE the ones individually helping these folks to survive. You're both reacting like fearful little babies. Red is afraid of its own shadow, seeing terrorist boogie men around every corner and Blue is afraid to look like anything but the worlds biggest humanitarians that way they can just villify Red as callous monsters instead of, y'know, putting their money where their mouth is. And on and on it goes. Neither side is smart enough to look at ISIS and realize that this is, once again, a direct result of our own stupid-ass actions as well as the high-level manipulations of governments (including our own). You think ISIS just sprang up out of nowhere? You think they continue to get funded out of nowhere? Yeah, no. This continues to be nothing more than a political shell game with innocent people (like these refugees... and the people in Paris... and the people in 9/11... and taxpaying decent people all over the world!) stuck in the middle. For Christ's sake, I'll GUARANTEE high-level movers & shakers were OVERJOYED about the Paris attacks and the loss of life because Paris has been opposed to a lot of "war on terror" bullshit (and it IS a lot of bullshit) but now? Nope now they're on board. Convenient. Let's face it, you both have good points and, because you're sides are a bunch of polarized f**ktards, it doesn't matter. You're both, ultimately, wrong because you're too stupid to talk to other human beings like human beings. You both break out the memes and the strawmen -- and the vilification and the victimization as soon as you can to politicize events and people as soon as possible. Syrian refugees?! Why not help OUR homeless? Yeah, no shit. We've got money to do BOTH -- so why not DO GODDAMN BOTH! Oh, that's right... because the latter isn't the current pet project of the week. We've got half a million homeless at any given time in the US. Our government will unflinchingly add 10,000 refugees (or otherwise) to that number overnight without missing a beat. We WASTE 8 million dollars a day "protecting the world" with a massive profit-driven war-machine that damages our soldiers and undermines our position globally for the benefit of a few. You wanna bitch about terrorists when you're more likely to choke on a cheeseburger? You wanna turn everything into a chance to salve your own sense of self-worth? You both make me sick because you both feed into the game that's ruined this country and pushed it down the drain. If you're too dumb to side against the Green$ instead of just Red or just Blue, please fall off the planet. John Davidson is host of Geek Cred, airing Mondays at 7:30 PM on 990WBOB.com
