Ed Doyle We have had another tragedy in our country folks, Elliot Rodger, a spoiled son of rich disconnected parents, murdered in cold blood, six innocent people. It is indeed tragic and senseless when innocent lives are taken in cold blood, but there is a second tragedy here and there are many that are guilty of it. Elliot Rodger did not just snap overnight. He did not suddenly lose his mind and decide to spread his reign of terror, death and destruction. No, Elliot Rodger had a long history of hatred. He posted at least 22 YouTube videos filled with hatred, he had in the past tried to push people off a cliff at a party and he continually spread hatred to women. The previous Friday night, Elliot Rodger’s mother got a call from her son’s therapist telling her that her son had emailed a ranting manifesto about going on a deadly rampage. His mother called the police warning them of the danger that her son posed. It was actually the second time in recent months where Rodger’s mother tried to intervene. In April, she had called one of her son’s councilors after seeing bizarre videos her son had posted on YouTube but nothing was done. The police visited Elliot after the call from his mother and later said they were unaware of any videos and they concluded after their visit, that the well-mannered, if not shy young man posed no risk. The lame stream media only wants to publicize, if not Glorify for the sake of ratings and the destruction or our rights as Americans, the story of a mass shooting. They do not want to tell you that he did NOT have an assault rifle, merely a handgun. They do not want to tell you that he did not have any of the so-called high capacity magazines. They do not want to tell you that three of the six were stabbed to death. No they only want you to hear, Mass Shooting. They definitely do not want you to know that in California, with some of the toughest gun laws in the country, that the gun control did not stop an evil man from spreading death and destruction. No, the real tragedy here is that all of these doctors KNEW he was dangerous, the police either ignored or didn’t bother to investigate the videos they were warned about, and an evil man was allowed to take the lives of six innocent people. So to all of you that are so sold on gun control, of limiting magazine sizes and banning those scary looking rifles like AR-15’s, or even right here in Rhode Island that think TAXING law abiding firearms owners I ask you this… Where did ANY of your gun control laws work in the case of Elliot Rodger and protect the lives of 6 people? Evil will find a way of committing evil acts. Only by upholding our mom’s, dad’s and family’s right to keep and bear arms and our God given right protect them from evil people like Elliot will we ever see a reduction if not elimination of mass murders for evil vile monsters.
