Where is the Outrage? Where are the protesters, occupiers and rebels without a clue? The latest in George Orwell 1984 Big Brother-type politics is the NSA; and a 29 year old defense contractor technical assistant for Government Agencies named Edward Snowden. Mr. Snowden is a Hero to some and a Traitor to some others.
Edward is leaking out information regarding how the NSA National Security Agency is basically monitoring Americans ether by cell phones, computers, and some tech outlets such as Verizon, Google, Facebook and Twitter. In the name of security, Americans have lost freedoms and trust in their Government.
NDAA (National Defense Authorization Act) under this act the Government took decorated marine vet Brandon Raub and detained without charge for a posting in Facebook , also they can detain you indefinitely without legal rights. Imagine a vet you served his country taking away for expressing his point of view, Freedom of Speech?
IRS (Internal Review Service) Basically the IRS was targeting certain groups of Americans by delays and intimidation based on political affiliation and religious believes , imagine a Government Administration using the power of the IRS to be and act like an attack dog against fellow citizens?
AP (Associated Press) Dept. of Justice subpoenaed the private phone records of several Associated Press reporters and editors of the conservative media. Imagine the only source of news is from a Government run news agency, you think there is bias now in the media?
The NSA (National Security Agency) is monitoring communication and social networks off All Americans in the name of security… thus forfeiting our sovereignty.
Some Quotes from Edward Snowden:
"I'm willing to sacrifice all of that because I can't in good conscience allow the US government to destroy privacy internet freedom and basic liberties for people around the world with this massive surveillance machine they're secretly building."
'You can't wait around for someone else to act'
"they are intent on making every conversation and every form of behavior in the world known to them"
"The government has granted itself power it is not entitled to. There is no public oversight. The result is people like myself have the latitude to go further than they are allowed to,"
I find these signs disturbing, I find Ed’s massage plain frightening and I find lack of outrage against these infringements just plain Sad.
