Snipers are notorious for their undetected presence. Though in less than a week, the film American Sniper has made national headlines, becoming the focus of much fanfare as well as a public lightning rod. The film is based on the autobiography of U.S. Navy Seal Chris Kyle, the most lethal sniper in United States military history, who served four tours of duty in the Iraq War where he accumulated 160 confirmed kills. This week, on The Wild Side, host David Clyde was joined by co-author of American Sniper, Jim DeFelice, to discus his relationship with CPO Kyle, how Kyle came to join the Navy Seals, his experience in Iraq, his need to help others, and his untimely death.
