LISTEN: Combat-Wounded Marine Turned Actor, Jacob Schick on The Wild Side

It has been a wild ride for U.S. Marine Cpl. Jacob Schick from September 2004 until today. Schick lost most of his right leg and part of his left hand and arm when the vehicle he was driving hit a triple-stacked tank mine in Iraq. In addition, he suffered numerous burns, shrapnel wounds, and compound fractures. The incident also caused traumatic brain injury and post-traumatic stress for the third generation Marine.

Fast forward to 2015. Schick now married and has a three year old son. He has appeared on the HBO's “Alive Day Memories: Home from Iraq,” and “Starting Over,” on Good Morning Texas. Most recently, Schick landed a small role in the critically-acclaimed film, American Sniper, playing Wynn, a combat-wounded veteran in a pair of scenes opposite Bradley Cooper.

This week on The Wild Side, David Clyde spoke to Kyle about his experiences and to bring attention to an important cause, #22Kill, an initiative by Honor Courage Commitment, Inc., to raise awareness to a startling statistic regarding veteran suicide.
