With all these mock drafts going around, it can get confusing to follow, so here at College Football Impact, we give you the one and only mock you need to read. Actually, let’s call this the CFI “Lock Draft”!
  1. Cincinnati – Joe Burrow (QB, LSU) Bengals were 30th in offense last season so they take the Heisman winner, national champion and most day-1 ready quarterback in the draft.
  2. Washington– Chase Young (Edge, Ohio State) The Redskins were 32nd in offense last season, but they used a 1st rounder on a QB last year, and this April they score the best player in the draft, Chase Young.
  3. Detroit – Jeff Okudah (CB, Ohio State) The Lions were 29th in defense, and Matt Patricia needs help after losing Darius Slay. Okudah is as sure of a cornerback as we have seen in the draft in quite a while.
  4. New York Giants – Tristan Wirfs (OT, Iowa) They could go LB with Isaiah Simmons here, but they need tackle help, and Wirfs at 6’5”, 322lbs is ready to play in the NFL today.
  5. Miami – Tua Tagovailoa (QB, Alabama) This is a call Miami makes at the last second of the timer. They want Tua, that is clear, but this is risky, and they weigh the options.
  6. Los Angeles Chargers – Justin Herbert (QB, Oregon) They are not going with Tyrod Taylor as QB1, stop the smokescreen. This is a no brainer; Herbert can throw downfield as well as anyone in the draft. He makes the sweet West Coast drive from Eugene down to LA.
  7. Carolina – Derrick Brown (DT, Auburn) The Panthers can’t stop the run, and there is no one better at that than Brown. Panthers get a decade long starter and multi-time pro bowler here.
  8. Arizona – Jedrick Willis (OT, Alabama) They really want to take CeeDee Lamb here, but Kyler Murray gets sacked more than anyone in the league. This is a necessity pick.
  9. Jacksonville – Isaiah Simmons (LB, Clemson) Jags jump on this pick in a hurry when Simmons is still available.
  10. Cleveland – Mekhi Becton (OT, Louisville) The only thing the brains at the Browns need to think of here is what size shoulder pads a 6’7”, 364lb lineman needs.
  11. New York Jets – Andrew Thomas (OT, Georgia) They need receivers, but this draft is so deep they can pick some up later. If you can’t block for Sam Darnold, receivers don’t do much good.
  12. Las Vegas – CeeDee Lamb (WR, Oklahoma) Mike Mayock said he needs speed on the outside, and while Lamb isn’t Henry Ruggs fast, he does the trick here as the first skill player selected
  13. San Francisco – Jerry Jeudy (WR, Alabama) Someone wipe Jimmy G’s drool when he sees that Jeudy is on the board at #13.
  14. Tampa Bay – Joshua Jones (OT, Houston) Bucs fans really want Ruggs here, but TB needs to protect TB and the $50M investment. This is a safe pick.
  15. Denver – Henry Ruggs III (WR, Alabama) Easy pick. Take the fastest guy in the draft and then figure out if Drew Lock can overthrow this guy!
  16. Atlanta – Javon Kinlaw (DT, South Carolina) Not many mocks have him available at 16, and it might take the perfect storm, but this is the no brainer pick. Kinlaw is a monster of an athlete, someone who can finally get to the passer for Atlanta.
  17. Dallas – Xavier McKinney (S, Alabama) Cowboys need secondary help and McKinney is one of those athletes who can play anywhere in the back. Take any CB/S that has 2 years of starting experience at Alabama, give him a Sunday helmet, and they always perform.
  18. Miami – K’Lavon Chaisson (Edge, LSU) They need line help and could use a back, but Chaisson is ready to play now and can help out Flores defense in a hurry.
  19. Las Vegas - CJ Henderson (CB, Florida) They already got their receiver at #12, and now get the 2nd best corner in the draft. Imagine those practices with Henderson covering Lamb. Iron sharpens iron.
  20. Jacksonville – Yetur Gross-Matos (Edge, Penn State) 6’5”, 266lbs with a motor that plays 4 downs. YGM had 17.5 sacks in 2 seasons and brings his athleticism south to Jax.
  21. Philadelphia – Justin Jefferson (WR, LSU) They were very quiet on free agent receivers this off season, and that’s because of the depth in the draft. Jefferson caught 111 passes last year in 15 games. JJ also balled out on the biggest stages.
  22. Minnesota – Travon Diggs (CB, Alabama) They could go WR here, but instead they take a sure thing at corner. Lose Stefon Diggs in a trade, bring in his younger brother?
  23. New England – Kenneth Murray (LB, Oklahoma) This sounds strange, but there are about 6 positions to address for the Patriots. Linebacker may not be the most pressing, but Murray falls into this spot at the right time.
  24. New Orleans – Patrick Queen (LB, LSU) A little undersized, but isn’t that who the Saints excel best with?
  25. Minnesota – Tee Higgins (WR, Clemson) Maybe first round is a reach for Higgins, but the Saints need to fill the void of Stefon Diggs.
  26. Miami – DeAndre Swift (RB, Georgia) Georgia backs produce in the NFL, which is why Swift leapfrogs Johnathan Taylor.
  27. Seattle – AJ Espenesa (Edge, Iowa) Seattle needs help here big time. At 6’5”, 275lbs, Espensa fits the needs.
  28. Baltimore – Zack Baun (LB, Wisconsin) I have Baun just outside the first round, but because Simmons/Murray/Queen are off the board, the Ravens take the next best thing.
  29. Tennessee – Isaiah Wilson (OT, Georgia) Perhaps a reach pick, but at 21 years old and 6’6” 350lbs, Wilson fills up the offensive line for Derrick Henry.
  30. Green Bay – Denzel Mims (WR, Baylor) Aaron Rodgers needs people to throw to, and at 6’3”, Mims provides a nice lengthy target.
  31. San Francisco – Kristian Fulton (CB, LSU) Not a ball hawk who pulls in a lot of interceptions, but a sure thing in coverage.
  32. Kansas City – AJ Terell (CB, Clemson) If Espensa or Baun fall here, that’s there pick. But with them gone, Terrell becomes a Chief and will transition well to the NFL with the 32nd pick.

Round 2
  1. Cincinnati – Terrell Lewis (Edge, Alabama)
  2. Indianapolis – Brandon Aiyuk (WR, Arizona State)
  3. Detroit – Johnathan Taylor (RB, Wisconsin)

  5. Los Angeles Chargers – JK Dobbins (RB, Ohio State)
