Facebook user Willie Vanover Jr. posted a video Tuesday night which seemingly shows an unidentified Police or security officer stomping on and kicking a man as three others attempt to detain him.
In the video, four officers can be seen attemting to arrest or detain a man on Washington Street outside the URI Providence building. The officers have the suspect on the ground, and appear to be attempting to place handcuffs on the man as he resists unsuccessfully. Suddenly, in the video, one officer can be seen stomping on the man's pelvis at least three times before stepping back to take one direct kick to his hip. Details about the man, the officers, or the arrest are not available at this time. Check out the video below.
Editor's Note: Originally, it was reported that the officer seen kicking the suspect was a member of the Providence Police Department, but new information reveals that he may be a member of URI Campus Security staff.
