Gargoyles Performance Eyewear, marketed by FGX International, the world’s leading designer and marketer of non-prescription reading glasses and sunglasses donated nearly $3000 to Operation Stand Down Rhode Island (OSDRI) to benefit Rhode Island veterans in need. During the company’s annual summer employee picnic, hundreds of employees were given the opportunity to purchase the Gargoyle brand sunglasses at a discounted price with the proceeds of sales going to OSDRI. Operation Stand Down, is Rhode Island’s primary veteran non-profit organization providing housing, employment and training and supportive services to low income and homeless veterans. In addition to the monetary donation, FGX senior management has made a commitment to work with Operation Stand Down and hire out-of-work veterans to fill roles within the expanding company.
