Joe Ponte
(AKA Uncle RIPTA) Bust out your green garb because this Friday is St. Patrick’s Day and you need go get your beer on at one of our local breweries. I reached out to all of Little Rhody’s craft breweries and compiled a list of who's brewing and who's doing what for one of our favorite drinking holidays. If your favorite spot is not listed, it doesn't mean they are not celebrating (not everyone got back to me before I wrote the list). Without further ado….

Whalers Brewing Company
1174 Kingstown Rd, Wakefield, RI 02879 St. Patrick's Day Hours: 4-10 Although not serving the usual Irish beer, they will have Rise, their American Pale Ale -- East Coast IPA -- Hazelnut Stout -- The Abbey Dubbel, a Belgian Trappist style ale -- Pleiades, a blueberry Berliner Weisse style sour -- and very likely will have Wanderer on which is a really nice Double IPA clocking in a 8% ABV. They also have a couple of fundraising events going on that day: The RI Pet Connection will be at Whalers raising funds with a raffle and bake sale. They'll also be looking to find forever homes for some of their adoptable dogs.
