The San Francisco Bay area regional authority plans to demolish 169,000 single-family homes in the bay area, despite the outrage and objections of residents. This according to new research posted today by the RI Center for Freedom & Prosperity, a nonpartisan public policy think tank. This bay area regional authority is similar to the "Urban Redevelopment Authority" that the controversial RhodeMap RI plan would create in the Ocean State. While supporters of the RhodeMap RI plan claim that there's nothing in the plan to give local residents and elected officials any concern about a potential loss of their property rights or an erosion of the sovereignty of their locally elected governments, new information published today by the Center clearly shows how similar plans across the country have indeed caused unthinkable destruction to the lives of other Americans. "So outraged are residents, that both liberals and conservatives are working together to stop these out-of-control planners. We are not being told what comes next, but fortunately our Center has done the research," said Mike Stenhouse, CEO for the Center. "RhodeMap RI, itself, must be stopped at next Thursday's vote of the state planning council, so that this tragedy never happens to Rhode Islanders." This bay area example demonstrates a stark and startling example of how blind dedication to, or forced compliance with a national "sustainable development" agenda, enforced by a regional authority run by unelected ideologues, can supersede the will and the best interests of local residents and their duly elected officials. |
