Gasoline prices in Rhode Island are up one cent from last week, according to AAA Northeast. AAA’s July 6th survey of prices in Rhode Island found self-serve, regular unleaded averaging $2.79 per gallon, up one cent from last week. Prices locally are six cents higher than a month ago. The current price is three cents more than the national average for regular unleaded of $2.76. A year ago at this time Rhode Island’s average price was 95 cents higher at $3.74. The range in prices in the latest local AAA survey for unleaded regular is 34 cents, from a low of $2.65 to a high of $2.99. AAA advises motorists to shop around for the best prices in their area, and to make sure they and their passengers buckle up- every trip, every time.
