Colonel Steven G. O'Donnell, Superintendent, of the Rhode Island State Police and Commissioner/Director of Public Safety, announces the arrest of fourteen (14) individuals for Possession and Distribution of Heroin/Fentanyl. The arrests were the result of a two month investigation by the High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (HIDTA) Task Force, North Smithfield Police Department and Lincoln Police Department.
During the course of this investigation undercover officers purchased quantities of heroin on twenty-five (25) separate occasions. Some of these purchases were later determined to be fentanyl based.
These individuals will be formally arraigned at Sixth District Court, Garrahy Judicial Complex, One Dorrance Plaza, Providence, Rhode Island at approximately 2:00 PM today. A
