Ryan L. Fox We all know that famous slogan: “America Runs on Dunkin’!” In southern New England, you could drive 5 miles down a road and pass by at least 3-4 Dunkin’ shops along the way, whether it its own store or part of a gas station. So when Dunkin’ releases a new wave of special-themed coffees, frozen drinks, and donuts, you know people are going to go out of their way to try them. Recently, Dunkin’ released a new wave of Hersey candy themed coffees, mochas, and coolattas such as the Hersey candy donut, the Heath bar mocha latte and coffee, and the Kit-Kat coolatta. Already yours truly has sampled the Heath bar coffee earlier and with temperatures soaring into the high 80s, I felt the need to sip on something nice, cold, and refreshing. Enter the Kit-Kat bar coolatta. I made my way over to Dunkin’, ordered my coolatta, paid, and drove off with the ice-cold beverage. Once on the road, I took my first sip and I must say, it was worth the price. On the first sip, you get a healthy taste of vanilla, almost as if you were sipping on a vanilla shake. But the treat isn’t the vanilla. Rather, it’s the crushed up bits of Kit Kat bar mixed and swirled with in the drink. It was a nice combo of both chocolate crunchiness and vanilla coolness that was a fine way to beat the heat. But there was a small drawback. If you sip too hard through your straw, you have the chance of clogging it with the little bits of Kit Kat within the coolatta which can be frustrating at times. Not to mention that the condition of the Kit Kat bar coolatta can vary depending on which Dunkin’ Donuts you go to. You could go to one Dunkin’ and get a smooth Kit Kat bar coolatta but have just an absurd amount of Kit Kat bar bits in it or you could to another Dunkin’ and Luckily I went to a Dunkin’ that made it just right for me. Overall, the Kit Kat Bar is a nice, sugary treat at Dunkin’ that can help you beat the heat. I would also recommend you get it with some whip cream to add to the flavor. Overall Score 4.25 out of 5 Bobheads and one ‘All Right’ from Tyler Salk. Read More 990WBOB |
