Trump Staffer Takes Blame for Plagiarized Speech

A staff writer for Donald Trump's private company, Meredith McIver, has taken the blame for the gaffe involving Melania Trump and her near verbatim recitation of a speach given by current FLOUTS, Michelle Obama in 2008.

The statement, issued on Trump Organization letterhead, details how the error was made, and even states that she offered her resignation -- which Trump refused to accept. 

However, following all of the double-talk and finger-pointing that has gone on regarding the lifted speech, it is hard to tell whether this is sincere -- or merely a Trump (non-campaign) employee falling on a sword to help bury the mistake.
