Why do we love animals more than humans? Maybe because animals are better people. But doesn't it feel strange that we have such an emotional reaction to animal violence, and don't seem to care at all about violence against our fellow man? This week on The Tom Stewart Project,Tom tackles the issue of animal cruelty, and why we seem to be so up in arms about animal cruelty, but never about human cruelty. We are fighting to deny thousands of middle eastern victims refuge from terror. We do nothing to prevent the thousands of unnecessary gun deaths in the U.S. We watch idly by as terrorists behead or burn alive innocent victims. But tape one dog's mouth shut, and thousands of Americans demand action. Don't get him wrong, Tom Stewart believes that the woman who taped the dog's mouth shut is reprehensible and deserves any punishment she receives, but he does point out the fascinating hypocrisy of it all.
