Study: More Than 1 in 3 Americans Have Been Enrolled in an Auto-Pay Program without Knowing8/22/2017
Paying your bills has gotten easier over the years thanks to online banking and payment services, but buyers should beware. More than 1 in 3 Americans (35%) say they have signed up for a subscription or membership, such as a gym, that enrolled them in an automatic payment plan without even realizing it, according to a new study by CreditCards.com. When respondents found themselves in this situation, only 11% kept the auto-pay turned on, while 89% chose to turn it off. Only about half of those surveyed found it easy to cancel an automatic payment (47%).
Have you fallen victim to recurring payments without knowing?

The Red Sox have a history with race relations regarding the team. They were the last major league team to integrate their roster, adding their first black player in 1959. Just this season, Baltimore Orioles’ outfielder Adam Jones was the victim of racist taunts from the crowd, and even had objects thrown at him. The image of Boston being a racist city is one that Red Sox team owner John Henry would like to shed.

Welcome PawSox fans of all ages to WBOB’s PawSox Weekly Notebook, a weekly guide to all what’s happening with the Columbus Avenue Crew (aka, the Pawtucket Red Sox). Well if you were hoping for some playoff games at McCoy, the window is closing on them. This past week, the PawSox were eliminated from the divisional lead race in the IL North. However they still hold a mathematical chance of making the wild card, giving the McCoy faithful hope that they could still see their team in action come mid-September.
