Allan Giberti We are inundated with news. There’s plenty of local news and national news, but world news? Not so much. Most people don’t follow what’s going on in the European Union, or what’s going on with Brexit and that’s a huge loss for us. There are lessons to be learned as to what not to do, but maybe that’s why it doesn’t get much coverage. To put it simply, the UK wants to leave the European Union because it wants to be under its own rule. Simple things every sovereign country has a right to do; like not being told how much fish they are allowed to catch in their own waters, or control over who comes into their country. The UK, like many other countries in the EU, were forced to be the recipients of mass migration, and if the Democrats have their way, our borders will be just as porous. We have seen the reports of the “no go zones” where even the police will not venture. We have seen the rise of assaults on women, but there are other consequences of mass migration that we don’t hear that much about, like the attacks on members of the LGBT community. The mass importation of an ideology that takes the condemnation of homosexuality to an unthinkable extreme. Liberal LGBT activists take to the streets with banners proclaiming “LGBT for Islam” yet remain oddly silent to not just the rise of violence affecting the LGBT community across the pond, but to horrors committed against gay men in Chechnya. The Log Cabin Republicans endorse President Trump and the left has a fit. Why? Because President Trump is stripping rights from the LGBT community. Oddly, no one is able to name a single right that has been taken away. However, in France, gays and lesbians are living in fear, and are too afraid to show any outward signs of being “gay.” You won’t find to many gay couples holding hands after one gay couple was taken to the hospital after being beaten for kissing in public. Last month, a Tunisian LGBT activist who lives as a political refugee in Paris was brutally assaulted in a homophobic attack requiring hospitalization. In April, just outside Paris, a 21-year-old migrant from Tunisia was arrested after a horrific attack where a gay man was stabbed to death and his friend was disemboweled. DISEMBOWELED. A French Islamist plotted to kill men by luring them on gay dating apps. According to a Berlin anti-violence project, attacks on homosexuals in Berlin are commonplace with most of the attackers being young migrant-background men. Four North African migrants are on trial for the death of a transgender woman whose body was discovered in a Swiss lake last year. In the UK, aside from the assaults the LGBT community now can now also look forward to being protested by the Muslim community. That happened as a result of the Muslim community opposing schools teaching the students about LGBT relationships. Protests began and ended with the Muslim protesters, many who do not have children attending theses schools, pelting the LGBT protesters with eggs. Meanwhile, Reps. Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib accuse Israel of oppression at the same time that the Palestinian Authority bans all LGBT activity in the West Bank. Sounds like oppression to me. I could easily fill pages of recent, actual attacks on the LGBT community. Real physical and social attacks, not some butt hurt millennial’s overly sensitive ‘oh so delicate’ feelings. People beaten and killed because of what they are. Rights are being stripped from the LGBT community. However, President Trump is not the one doing it. Next time you see a Democrat, ask them why they are supporting a party that props up people like Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib. Why do they kowtow and gladly give their support to groups and organizations that have zero tolerance for the LGBT community? Of course I’m not saying every Muslim is homophobic. Don’t be ridiulous. But to close your eyes to something becasue it doesn’t advance a narrative is worse than those who commit these crimes against members of the LGBT community, because you are helping to faciitate it. Calling out hate only when it’s convenient it pretty hateful in itself. The UK looked the other way as anti-Semitism swept through it’s country, and intolerance for the LGBT community not far behind. We are on the same slippery slope as the Democrats struggle to define or redefine who they are and what they stand for. Fortunately, the only ones who can make those choices are the American people. What legislators like Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib continually fail to understand is that they are there to represent the interests of the American people, not their own interests and the American people are not anti-Semetic or homophobic. If you’re offended too bad. Get over it. I’m offended too. Allan Giberti is the host of RI Red Radio on 990WBOB.com. You can listen to Allan live on Mondays at 7pm and Tuesdays at 8pm.
