Ryan L. Fox With the ever so growing trend of vegetarianism nowadays, many food establishments, regular restaurants and fast food chains, have come up with their own variations of vegetarian dishes. Recently, Burger King has come out with a new Whopper than claims it is “100% Whopper, 0% Meat." Impossible you say? It is possible thanks to the Impossible Whooper. As somebody who is always curious in sampling new kinds of foods and beverages, your's truly decided to head over to his local Burger King and try the new sandwich. There were some doubts lingering within as I waited in line. How would this meatless burger taste? Will it just be some sort of blandish tofu? Will it be just some cliché veggie burger with grains bits, black beans, and corn? Will it be filling? I made my purchase, got my Impossible Whooper, opened up, and took one big bite. I will admit, I was surprised on the texture and taste of the burger. The taste was very savory, not too salty or bitter. The texture of the "meat" itself was that like a regular beef patty. There was no vegetable grains, black beans, or corn mixed within the patty. I actually lifted the bun to check to confirm that, and saw that the patty itself looks almost exactly like a Whopper burger patty. Dare I say, the taste was on par, if not better than an actual Whopper. And the most interesting thing was that it wasn’t as greasy like a regular Whopper patty so I didn’t have to worry about having that greasy aftertaste in my mouth. I instantly finished the rest of my Impossible Whopper, and went back for another one. In the words of Jules, Mm-hmm! It was a tasty burger.
