Allan Giberti Last Tuesday when presumptive Democrat nominee, Joe Biden, announced that Sen. Kamala Harris was to be his Vice President pick you would have thought someone had announced the third coming of Jesus Christ. In case you’re wondering, most Democrats believe Barack Hussein Obama was the second. The virtue signaling hung heavy in the air as I watched liberals being brought to tears because of how “inspirational” Kamala Harris was during her speech. It was as if social justice was evaporating from the tears themselves. In reality, the only thing I can liken it to would be the time I took my niece and her friends to a boy band concert. Same fanaticism, same tears only this time the performer was Joe Biden’s running mate. I didn’t realize that the reason Kamala is so inspirational is because I’m a misogynistic racist. Well, at least that’s the answer I got when I asked exactly why she’s so inspirational. Be warned, apparently now asking questions about a political candidate who isn’t a white male is both misogynistic and racist. But what is it that makes Kamala Harris the best person for the job? What valuable assets does she bring to the table? She checked off all of Joe Biden’s boxes, she’s a woman of color. But what about Kamala’s record? Aren’t these the things that matter? Should we not question them regardless of your political affiliation? Of course we should, the Democrats even more so considering she’s representing their party. No, I’m not sorry but going after someone because of bad decisions and even worse public policies has zero to do with someone’s race or sex. Nothing at all and it is no different from the recent shutting down of conversations by the left when they call someone racist. It’s nothing short of totalitarianism. Ironic though, isn’t it? What about those tough questions regarding Kamala’s record and those who support her? Someone needs to provide answers because I’m willing to bet the farm that many voters and other candidates will also be asking them. Wall Street was thrilled when Biden picked Kamala. Why? Why would Wall Street be all about Biden and Harris when the prevailing talking point has been that President Trump works for Wall Street and billionaires? The answer is that he hasn’t. President Trump has clamped down on foreign workers taking away jobs from Americans thereby tightening the job market and causing wages to rise for working middle class Americans. Biden and Harris, on the other hand, want to increase the number foreign workers here which would ultimately drive wages down for American workers. Big tech has been very generous when it comes to giving donations to Kamala. In fact, it was donations to the tune of $214,000 from Big Tech that helped get her elected to the California Senate. Kamala’s primary run was no different seeing how it was mostly funded by billionaires, employees of major law firms (even a law firm used by Jeffrey Epstein), multinational corporations, and Silicon Valley Big Tech companies. So, it should be no surprise that Silicon Valley is simply delighted with Biden’s pick. According to Cooper Teboe, a top Democrat fundraiser in Silicon Valley, he said that almost one-third of the donors he spoke to believe that Kamala was the most Big Tech-friendly of the vice-presidential choices and that she “is the safest pick for the donor community. She will be the pick that the California, Silicon Valley donor community, who are worried about things like tech and repatriation and taxes and so on and so forth, she is the pick that they will be happiest with.” There is a pattern here. Now you have self-absorbed, hypocritical Hollywood elites, like Alyssa Milano and Debra Messing are just so full of virtue that they are joining forces with Time’s Up’s “We Have Kamala Harris’s Back” campaign. Their mission is to force media outlets into protecting Harris from “sexist and racist” political attacks. But is this really an issue? Anytime during the campaign, has anyone politically attacked Kamala Harris on the basis of her sex or her race? Any rational person would agree that a “sexist and racist attack” against Kamala (or anyone for that matter) would involve calling into question her ability to do the job simply because she is a woman or because of her race. That is not what this is. It’s not even close to what the left’s definition of a “sexist and racist attack” is. The “sexist and racist attacks” they want to put an end to is the “unfair coverage, double standards, and coded language that have held women – and especially women of color – from positions of power, across party lines, for far too long.” You’re kidding me, right? “Unfair coverage, double standards, and coded language” is what the Democrat Party and the mainstream media have been doing since President Trump was elected in 2016. Questions regarding Kamala’s past, her political record and even things she’s said while on the campaign trail are the so-called sexist and racist attacks that they want to put an end to. That’s right, holding her up to the same scrutiny and accountability as other political candidates is a sexist and racist attack because regardless of whatever it is, you’re really attacking her because she’s a woman of color. Are we protecting all women from sexist attacks or just Kamala? Does she still support and believe the women who came forward with allegations against Biden for inappropriate touching and kissing? Does she still believe former Senate staffer, Tara Reade who accused Biden of sexually assaulting her in 1993? If she does, then why isn’t she pursuing this with the same ferocity as she did when she led the charge against, then SCOTUS nominee, Brett Kavanaugh? She pursued unsupported accusations of sexual misconduct against Kavanaugh and even introduced a letter from a “Jane Doe” who claimed that she was raped several times by Kavanaugh and a friend after giving her a ride home from a party. The letter did not provide any details to investigate but Kamala introduced it anyway. No time or place, no return address and no clues at all as to who the accuser is or their background was and just like all of the “evidence” presented against Kavanaugh during those hearings, this letter had zero credibility. Yet Tara Reade’s claim is extremely credible and not a peep from the Democrats or Harris. Why do you suppose that is? Why did Biden outright lie on Wednesday when during his introduction of Kamala Harris as his running mate he repeated the debunked Charlottesville “fine people” hoax? If you remember during a CNN town hall in January Harris repeated the “very fine people” hoax, in June she claimed on Twitter that President Trump had “called neo-Nazis ‘fine people’ and on Wednesday, after Biden’s introduction, she alluded to it again. Is questioning her on this sexist or racist? Kamala fancies herself a victim’s advocate but I have to ask why, when she was the San Francisco DA, did she refuse to prosecute a single case of priests’ sexual abuse? Why did she put the brakes on existing plans to publicly release “clergy abuse files” and then suppress those documents? Why, during all of this, did lawyers and law firms representing the Archdiocese of San Francisco suddenly give campaign donations to Kamala? Why did some priests who had been identified as possible culprits, who had never given contributions to a race like this, suddenly give generously to Harris’s campaign? Why did Harris’ campaign accept? None of those questions attack Kamala personally on the basis of sex or race but you can be sure to be labeled something for asking. The new narrative is that asking someone to explain their actions is now classified as an attack. If the Democrats’ plan is to intimidate and shame Americans for asking the hard questions and then labeling them sexists and racists, then I say go for it but it’s not going to play out well come debate time. Kamala didn’t have what it took during the primaries to excite Democrat voters and all this narrative (which is in itself sexist and racist) does is paint her as a victim in need of rescuing and protection. Generally, not a quality one looks for when one is interviewing for the position of world leader, regardless of their sex or race. So, what was it again about Senator Kamala Harris that is so inspirational it brings a liberal to tears? Allan Giberti is the host of RI Red Radio on 990WBOB.com.
