David Rivard Fan Submission Earlier this week I was craving a sandwich. Not just any sandwich. But, a good old fashioned steak bomb with the current situation we're all going through It has grown ever restricted on where to get a decent sandwich let alone a decent meal. In my rush to get something to eat I mistakenly ordered my food on Monday for Wednesday (Tilly's is closed Mon & Tuesdays). I obviously wasn't paying attention and paid the price for it. Not necessarily! I received a call later that Monday evening and low and behold it's the owner of Tilly's, Jonathan. He introduces himself as such and asked me about my order and if I would still like it made the same way at the same time or if I would like to move it to a different date. I was floored. As much as I support small business I have never been contacted for a mistake on my part by a restaurant owner. It goes to show you that Jon and his team are always ready to help. I moved my order to Thursday and toldl and expressed my appreciation of his hospitality. When Thursday finally arrived. I headed over to pick up my sandwich and no sooner do I pull in. I received a text notification that my food was ready. The food is brought out in a stapled sealed bag and the very polite curbside runner, Zach, was wearing a mask. I found a nice place under the trees off the main road to URI and started to eat. Tilly's sandwiches are massive and they don't skimp on the quality either. Every bite was better than the last. I went all out and got some bacon fries and pickle chips for the review. Huge chunks of bacon with a hint of smokiness. All in all. It was a great sandwich and even better service. If you're ever in the URI area or are coming back from the casinos in CT You won't be disappointed grabbing food here regardless of the time.
